Uttarakhand, located in the northern part of India, is a state renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, spiritual significance, and adventure tourism. Known as the "Land of Gods" due to its many ancient temples and sacred sites, Uttarakhand is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas and is bordered by Himachal Pradesh to the northwest, Uttar Pradesh to the south, and Tibet to the north.
Uttarakhand is characterized by its diverse landscapes, which include snow-capped mountain peaks, dense forests, alpine meadows, glaciers, rivers, and waterfalls. It is home to several famous hill stations such as Nainital, Mussoorie, and Rishikesh, which attract tourists throughout the year. The state's vast natural resources also include protected wildlife areas, such as Jim Corbett National Park, which is India's first national park and a major wildlife sanctuary known for its Bengal tigers.
The state's rivers, including the Ganga, Yamuna, and their tributaries, flow through the region, adding to its scenic charm. The holy town of Haridwar, situated on the banks of the Ganga, is one of the seven holiest places in Hinduism and an important pilgrimage destination.
